Scottish JKA/WF Championships Forfar April 2026
JKA/WF Scottish Junior, Cadet & Senior Championships 2026 – NEWS AND EVENTS – SCOTTISH JKA CHAMPIONSHIPS FORFAR 2026
Brothock Shotokan Karate Club was once again honoured to host the JKA/WF Scottish Junior, Cadet & Senior Championships at Forfar Community Campus.
This year marked the fourth occasion that Brothock has hosted the Championships, and it was a privilege to welcome competitors, coaches, officials, volunteers, families and supporters from across Scotland for another outstanding day of traditional Shotokan Karate.
Events of this scale are only possible through the support and commitment of many people and organisations. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to ANGUSalive for their continued partnership, together with the management and staff of Forfar Community Campus, whose professionalism, enthusiasm and attention to detail helped ensure the Championships ran smoothly from start to finish. Their support over the years has played a significant role in establishing Forfar as an excellent venue for major karate events.
A heartfelt thank you also goes to Black Belt Piper, Sandy Johnstone, whose contribution to the opening ceremony once again created a wonderful atmosphere and added a real sense of occasion as competitors entered the hall.
To the referees, judges, table officials, coaches, first aid personnel, event volunteers and everyone working behind the scenes, thank you for giving your time, experience and energy. Your dedication ensured the event was professionally organised and provided a safe, enjoyable and memorable experience for everyone involved.
Finally, thank you to every competitor who stepped onto the tatami. Whether competing for the first time or as an experienced athlete, each participant demonstrated the qualities that lie at the heart of traditional karate—discipline, respect, courage and perseverance. The standard throughout the day was excellent, but just as importantly, the etiquette, sportsmanship and encouragement shown between competitors reflected the true spirit of our art.
We would also like to thank all the parents, families and supporters who travelled from across Scotland. Your encouragement from the sidelines, together with the commitment of the coaches and clubs, creates the positive environment in which our young karateka can develop both as martial artists and as individuals.
Hosting these Championships for the fourth time is something Brothock Shotokan Karate Club is immensely proud of. It reflects the confidence placed in our club by JKA/WF Scotland and the tremendous support we continue to receive from ANGUSalive, Forfar Community Campus, our volunteers and the wider Angus community.
Thank you to everyone who played a part in making the 2026 JKA/WF Scottish Championships such a memorable and successful occasion. We hope everyone enjoyed their day in Angus and look forward to welcoming you back in the future.
